How to download a resource from Tutela

This PDF document provides visual and clear instructions on the steps to locate and retrieve learning objects from the new Tutela.ca learning object repository. This technique is a requirement of the LearnIt2teach Stage 3 certification.

Note:  You must register as a member of Tutela.ca to access Learning objects. It is a free service!

Stage One at TESL Toronto

The TESL Toronto team has used a great resource, Prezi, to create this presentation summarizing their conference.  You might use this for your class as a presentation mechanism or as a tool for your students to create a visual presentation.   Find our presentation at 34 seconds!

The manual is a PDF version of the all of the elements covered in the Stage Three course.  It is available for those who wish to print out the complete set of of instructions to be available as they progress through the Stage 3 course.

Conversation (part 2) with Deborah Healey

Senior instructor at University of Oregon, Deborah Healey, is a CALL educator with an international reputation for thoughtful and incisive work.

In the second part of a conversation with Rob McBride, Deborah Healey explains how teachers can easily integrate technology into their practice. Tools as accessible as word processing or simple photo editing programs can be new and powerful avenues for language experience. The new ways we can do things are very empowering for teachers and learners. The Internet is a powerful medium for finding useful and stimulating classroom content. Creating a Google site or a blog on blogger take no more than a few minutes and link learners to the world in empowering ways.

TESL Toronto session

Our team fronted by Nancy Van Dorp completed a Stage 1 session to a full house at University of Toronto’s New College library.

The PechaKucha session at mid-day was a highlight at the conference.

We welcome the new instructors from this session to the LearnIT2teach training programme.
