On our edlinc.ca server we have two courses that are open to guest access. The first course complements the LINC 3 and 4 Classroom Activities book (2009), published by Algonquin College (through funding from Citizenship and Immigration Canada). The second course complements Chapter 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 in the LINC 5-7 Classroom Activities Volumes 1 and 2 (2010), published by the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Stage 2 can be completed online in about six to eight hours. Here a few tips from instructors who completed
this training:
1. Try to cluster the time you spend on Stage 2, rather than spreading it out over a long period of time.
2. More intense focus such as a weekend or a PD day could be helpful.
3. Take point-‐form notes while viewing the movies.
4. Review a movie twice before attempting an assessment if needed.
5. Partner with another instructor to complete Stage 2.
6. Organize instructors completing Stage 2 at your work-‐site computer lab. (e.g. mornings, afternoons, PD Days, or on a weekend if possible.)
7. Contact your mentor via email with any questions or concerns.
Stage 3 participants are challenged to post one or two ideas on how to utilize a tool or methods with the LINC courseware on the Sharing Resource and Ideas forum. This thought was shared over the past few months along with others that will be posted at this portal.
I am hoping that by using Latest News and the Calendar elements to advise students of deadlines for assignments and presentations as well as class and College events I will eliminate the usual 10 minute housekeeping at the beginning of each day and can instead use this time for warm-up or current events. In addition by using the Quizzes tool with automatic grading, I will save time that I can put towards lesson planning and development. In short, the more I can use the system as a communication and teaching tool, the more class time I save and the more I can teach the students.
The ESL LINC Digital News provides professional teachers/instructors of English in Ontario with updates on the development of LINC courseware and updates, tips and secrets of using educational technology to teach language blended with technology.

What is courseware? More specifically, what is LINC courseware? I am starting Stage One of the LearnIt2Teach program and am hoping to use the LINC courseware with my students in the future. I still have not seen a live sample of LINC courseware.
